Pike River coal mine officially opened on the West Coast
Nov 2008The new Pike River coal mine, in the Paparoa Ranges, 50km northeast of Greymouth was opened by new Energy Minister Gerry Brownlee who described the development as a good example of environmentally friendly mining practises.
