Award acknowledges community vision for new alpine village

Sep 2008

The RMLA occasionally makes awards to publications which make a significant contribution to the development of the law, theory or practice of resource management.  Receiving the award, Anderson Lloyd partner, Lauren Semple paid tribute to the collaborative approach taken by all the parties to develop the plan change proposal.

The plan change includes provision for a new village below the Cardrona skifield that required alteration of the the rural visitor zone rules so development on Mt Cardrona would  integrate with  the landscape.

The owners for Mt Cardron Station, despite the fact it altered their development rights, supported the zone change proposal, because it supported what the community wanted.
