Proposals to prevent damming of Otago's Nevis River

"The application is aimed at protecting those nationally important characteristics including the back country trophy trout fishery, the wild and scenic landscape, historic and cultural characteristics and a unique native fishery, Anderson Lloyd Partner," Maree Baker said. 

A Special Tribunal has been appointed to hear the application. Members Richard Fowler (Chair), Carolyn Burns and Rauru Kirikiri have been selected on the basis of their individual skills and experience and their skills as a collective.

The Special Tribunal publicly notified the application on Wednesday 3 September 2008 and is now calling for submissions. Submissions close at 5:00pm on 3 October 2008.
