What I like about my work

I like the intellectual challenge that my work brings and the fact that I help my clients to achieve results.

What I’ve done in the past

I started my career in 1972 working in the Dunedin law firm Sim McElrea and Partners, which eventually amalgamated with Anderson Lloyd.

My approach to working with my clients

My approach is one of finding out what my clients need to achieve, and then explaining the legal perspective so that they understand what I need to do to make it happen for them in an efficient and practical manner.

What I enjoy at work

I enjoy the informal and friendly environment at Anderson Lloyd which helps to deal with the pressures of a busy law firm.

What I enjoy outside of work

My wife and I have a young family, a big old house and a large garden, all of which keep me busy. I also like fishing, surfing, boating, skiing, kayaking and reading, and am honorary solicitor to a number of sports clubs in Dunedin.

What I enjoy about living in the South Island

I like the fact that most of the advantages of western civilisation can be found here, without the necessity of having to be a millionaire or to stand in line to enjoy them.
