What I like about my work

I enjoy doing deals and working under pressure. It’s great to work with a wide range of people on a variety of projects and to feel mentally stimulated.

What I’ve done in the past

I started out working for a law firm in Invercargill. I joined Anderson Lloyd in Dunedin in 1999, moving to the Christchurch office and joining the Partnership in 2002. I’m originally from Dunedin and knew the firm and its reputation. I was looking to join a firm with good commercial work and Anderson Lloyd fits the bill.

My approach to working with my clients

I like to work alongside my clients in a collaborative fashion. I seek to understand what they are looking to achieve so that I can get results for them. I really enjoy working with those clients who keep coming back to the firm as I get to know them on a professional and a personal level. It’s great to work with people you know and like.

What I enjoy at work

I really like the feel of the firm.

I get involved in some fantastic deals, work with some wonderful people, and have access to some great resources.

What I enjoy outside of work

I have two small children (aged 3 and 1) so I enjoy family time, as well as socialising with friends, a bit of exercise, gardening and waterskiing.

What I enjoy about living in the South Island

I don’t have to travel far to work. There are loads of recreation opportunities close by and it’s easy to get out of the city. I like the more relaxed feel of the South Island.
