What I do

My role involves a wide variety of operational, human resources and IT responsibilities for the Christchurch office.

What I like about my work

I love to wear many hats and this role certainly uses all of them.  No two days are the same and I really enjoy the variety of challenges that my role presents.

What I've done in the past

After completing my degree I joined the brain-drain and left for Sydney where I spent almost 5 years working in the recruitment industry in both office support and IT specialisations.

On returning to Christchurch, I split the next few years between working for a local recruitment agency as a consultant and staff trainer, and having my two lovely children.

After working in partnership with Anderson Lloyd to supply support staff for several years, I decided to make the move and join the team in August 2008 as office manager.  The opportunity to work alongside a team of high achieving professionals in a modern and forward thinking environment was an opportunity too good to pass up!

My approach to working with people

I like to treat people as individuals and enjoy working alongside others to help solve problems.

What I enjoy at work

I really enjoy the energy, enthusiasm and high standards of the people I work with.  The firms focus on flexible work practices and commitment to making sure that staff are happy, healthy and enthusiastic really sets this workplace apart.

What I enjoy outside of work

I am an avid sportsperson and at my happiest when I can get outside and just enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.  I try to cycle to work most days, go swimming with the kids, camping and boating in summer and have good intentions to run when the sun is out!

Competitively, I have focussed on netball umpiring at a national level but with a young family in tow I am content to officiate in the rain at Hagley Park for now.

What I enjoy about living in the South Island

I love the quieter pace of life, the fact our family are here and the chance to bring our children up in a place with so many awesome natural resources at their fingertips to enjoy.
