What I like about my work

I like the interaction that I get from working with my clients. Whilst the law itself may be relatively routine, applying it to each of my clients’ circumstances provides variety.

What I've done in the past

I have been with Anderson Lloyd since 1964. In the early years I was a general practitioner, before specialising in commercial work in the 1970s. In 1982 I moved to Queenstown to manage that office, where I mainly focused on commercial property and private client work. I returned to the Dunedin Office in 1995 and have continued advising individuals in trusts, wills, asset protection, estate and succession planning, and rural work. I also supervise our trusts and estates departments.

My approach to working with my clients

My approach to working with my clients is based on what they want. Some prefer a consultative approach and others like to be told what to do. I tailor my approach to the particular client.

What I enjoy at work

I like the fact that, having pursued this career for a number of years, I am now in a position to fully implement my wisdom and experience. I have a common sense approach to solving problems. I think that the length of time that I have been with the firm adds value to the practice.

What I enjoy outside of work

I am interested in travel, and have visited many places overseas. I also enjoy reading and sport.
